A Day in the life of Puerto Escondido, Baja California Sur
After Loomba-Loomba went back in the water on November 1 we kept getting projects done on the boat while we waited out a strong north “wind event”. We also spent some time getting to know the people and community of Puerto Escondido and Loreto.
The entrance to Puerto Escondido is just right of center.
No wonder they named it Puerto Escondido ( Hidden Port). |
The Hidden Port Yacht Club -
The Cruiser's hangout.
We made several trips into Loreto and a trip up to San Javier Mission in the mountains.
Great fish tacos and shrimp tacos! |
And LuLu is great too. |
This is where you need to go to get your propane tank filled.
It's about half way between PE and Loreto. |
Sunrise in Bahia Candeleros |
Villa del Palmar Resort in Bahia Candeleros.
They love having sailboats anchored out front
so they give cruisers a wrist band and use of all the facilities. |
An amazing mosaic mural in the lobby. |
Not a bad day hanging out by the pool. |
Loomba-Loomba and Moshulu anchored in front of the resort. |
It started raining during the night and didn't let up for 36 hours.
Loomba-Loomba got a much needed bath - rigging and all.

Dusk in Candeleros |
Bahia Ballandra on Isla Carmen |
This little duck hung out around the boat for a couple of days.

On November 19 we left the PE area and headed south towards La Paz.
