After leaving Puerto Escondido on May 11th we
headed out to the islands and anchorages around PE and Loreto. The weather was still perfect with
calm, clear, warm water. This is
our favorite area in the Sea of Cortez.
No towns, no wifi, no phone service. Just beautiful anchorages and beaches,
lots of sea life, and beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
First stop was Honeymoon Cove on Isla Danzante where we
spent several days.
Anna (with Mike, Kathy, Kent and Luis on board) caught up
with us there for a day.

Dolphins came for a visit every evening.
Then to Bahia Salinas on Isla Carmen where Wildfower joined
us, back to Candeleros Bay, Isla Coronados, and then Punta Mangles where we had
the anchorage to ourselves.

We said good-bye to Baja and headed out from Mangles at noon
on May 22nd , arriving in Bahia Algodones near San Carlos the
morning of the 23rd. It was a great crossing. Good wind on the Baja
side, light wind in the middle and strong wind on the mainland side. Fairly flat seas and a beautiful
moonless night sky.

Sunset out in the Sea of Cortez.

Heading into San Carlos the next morning.

Anchored in Bahia Algodones: Air temp 92, Water temp 77.2
We are now tied to the dock at Marina Real where
Loomba-Loomba will be for a month before she gets hauled out. We are heading back across the Sea by
ferry to get our car in PE and then going down to the Copper Canyon on the
mainland side for a week or so before we start getting Loomba-Loomba ready to
survive the summer in the dry storage yard here at Marina Real.
