We are heading out tomorrow to Isla San
Francisco for the night and then we will work our way north – anchorage to
anchorage. Not sure where – just
playing it by ear. We won’t have
wifi until we get to the Puerto Escondido/Candeleros area.
We love La Paz. Although you can take excursions to go
diving or to the beaches out on the islands, it is not the place to go for a
“tropical beach vacation”. If you
want to experience a real Mexican
city with a great setting, and is not “touristy”, La Paz is the place.

Las CrePaz - a new crepe cafe. |
This is our fifth time here and we are still experiencing
new “treasures”. We can get almost
anywhere we need to go on our bikes and we see more and discover more than in a
taxi, but there is a definite lack of street signs, so searching for a specific
address can be difficult. We’ve discovered places we weren’t looking for before we finally found the place we were looking for! It’s all an adventure.
Nutella is big in Mexico, but Las CrePaz takes the prize. |
We had a productive two weeks in La Paz. We had the raw
water pump rebuilt, a sail repaired, new staysail bag made, a cover for our new
windlass made, and shade curtains for the cockpit made. We scrubbed
Loomba-Loomba top to bottom. This was the first time since leaving the boat
yard and hopefully all the red dirt is history.
We went to the dentist for teeth cleaning, went out for some good meals, saw old friends and made new ones, got water and fuel, did laundry and re-provisioned.

Now we’re
ready to leave the city behind and find some quiet anchorages, nice beaches,
and clear warm water.
Congratulations on making it out of the yard and into the sea!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is great, and we agree La Paz is fantastic. good to hear the water is warming up. Boy, do we miss Mexico!
