We arrived in San Carlos on October 13th, worked on Loomba-Loomba in the work yard for a week, launched on October 21 and moved to the marina where we worked on getting the boat ready to go while waiting for a good weather window. We left Bahia San Carlos on November 5th heading across for San Juanico on Baja.

A gorgeous tree outside the guard house at the work yard. When we first arrived it was covered with beautiful orange blossoms - there are a few left in this picture. |

San Juanico:
Jose manages the small organic farm up the road from the beach. He didn't have any produce because he had just re-planted, but he did have eggs and goat cheese. |
Lots of turkey chicks this year........... |
and lots of baby goats.............. |
..........and lots of chickens! |
We were in San Juanico for a week:
We played some fun/low key bocce ball........ |
did some beach exploration.............. |
and had some interesting anchorage neighbors. This yacht "Andromeda" is 350' with a helicopter and a huge variety of skiffs and chase boats. |
Heading south toward Puerto Escondido.
Because of the unusual weather we stayed in PE for two weeks.
Heading into Puerto Escondido. |
We had LOTS of rain and wind during those
two weeks:
Views from our cockpit over the two weeks we were there:
We did have some fun, though:
Our friends, Steve and Susan (m/vPacific) just bought a beautiful townhome in Loreto Bay (Nopolo). They came and picked us up so we could see their new home and have lunch with them. Fun day! |
We had never been to Steinbeck Canyon when there was water running so we did the hike and there was PLENTY of water this time:
Thanksgiving Potluck on the Puerto Escondido malecon:
We left PE and headed south to Agua Verde on November 30th where we stayed to wait out the next blow:

Looking north from the village road. We've never seen it so green. All the rain has transformed the whole area. |
From Agua Verde we had a short weather window to head further south. We bypassed a few of our favorite anchorages and stopped at Isla San Francisco for
the night. The "no see ums" were pretty bad so we headed to Isla Espiritu Santo
the next morning. Dropped the anchor in Ensenada Grande and had the middle lobe all to ourselves. The wind was supposed to pick up the next day so we
moved to Caleta Partida and had a great three days. The water was warm
enough to swim and the sun was out!

Our final stop was in Bahia Falsa, not far from Marina Palmira, just for one
night. There is cell coverage here and we were able to catch up on emails etc.,
and confirm our dock reservation

We are now in Marina Palmira getting squared away with our yacht broker, cleaning up Loomba-Loomba, and catching up with friends.
We will be flying home for Christmas on the December 18th.
